MOVIE NEWS

According to Justin Chatwin, who is protraying Goku in the upcoming Dragonball Evolution, has stated in an interview with SciFi Now that the script for the sequel to Dragonball Evolution has already been written.

20th Century Fox released 3 TV spots for the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

TELEVISION NEWS

Billy West, voice actor for Fry, Zoidberg, and the Professor on Futurama, stated at Anime Supercon in Florida that Fox is considering bringing Futurama back to television for a 6th season. via Ain't It Cool News

According to Variety, Cartoon Network has ordered twenty-six episodes of Marvel Super Hero Squad, a cartoon featuring Captain America, the Silver Surfer, the Hulk, Wolverine, and Iron Man.

VIDEO GAME NEWS

Joystiq is reporting that the Nintendo DSi will be released in North America on April 5 and will be sold for $169.99.

Dustin Browder, Starcraft 2's lead developer, posted on Battle.net, Blizzard's forums, that the beta for Starcraft 2 will be released sometime this year.

MOVIE NEWS

Jimmy Hayward, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has been hired to direct the film based on the DC Comics character Jonah Hex.

Shazam, the planned movie based on the DC Comics' Captain Marvel, has been shelved according to the the writer, John August, on his blog.

20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. have decided to let Judge Feess decide whether or not Watchmen will be released on March 6th. Judge Feess will make his decision on January 20th. via The Los Angeles Times

Some spy footage supposedly from the set of Ghostbusters 3 has surfaced online.





The trailer for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li has been released.

MOVIE NEWS

A LA Judge said last week, according to The New York Times, that Fox owns the rights to distribute Watchmen. The judge told both Fox and Warner Bros to look towards either an appeal or a settlement, but Fox's lawyers have said they plan to stop the release of the film, from Superhero Hype.

And in other Watchmen news, a video focusing on the characters has been released.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Smallville's former show runners, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, have been hired to right the script for the film adaptation of the anime Robotech, set to be produced by Tobey Maguire.

Zombie virus to be in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King? According to Joystiq, yes, and it is a contain and intentional reworking of the blood plague from 2005.

Lucasarts and Bioware have announced Star Wars: The Old Republic, a new Star Wars MMORPG (Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game). At this point and time there has been no say on what will happen to Star Wars Galaxies. via Joystiq

Capcom has stated that Street Fighter IV will come out this winter. via Joystiq

Latino Review has debunked the rumors of David Boreanaz, star of Angel and Bones, playing Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie and has a review of the script.

The rumors a week or two ago about Will Smith playing Captain America, were definnatly not true as Will Smith has never evenheard of the rumors. via MTV Splash Page.



In what might be the WORST NEWS EVER, Warner Bros. is considering a sequel to Watchmen, according to Patrick Wilson in an interview with MTV News.

MOVIE NEWS

Columbia pictures has hired Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, both are writers of The Office (American version), to write Ghostbusters 3. For those of you who have not yet seen the original two yet you can watch them here. via Slashfilm.

The trial to see who owns the rights to produce the Watchmen movie will be held on January 6 according to Variety.

New pictures of the Dragonball movie have been released and contain the first look at Piccolo, picture below. via DBthemovie.


During an interview for his new movie, Bangkok Dangerous, Nic Cage revealed that Ghost Rider 2 is in development and will have Ghost Rider in Europe. via Superhero Hype.

Aaron Eckhart revealed during an interview with Superhero Hype that Two-Face did die in The Dark Knight and will not return in the sequel. I still believe that they will have Two-Face come back in a future film somewhere down the line and he has just been in Arhkam this whole time.

MOVIE NEWS

Warner Bros. does not know what to do with the Superman movie franchise, according to slashfilm at least. They want to do another movie be cause it has the potential to do good and make them a good bit of money but at the same time they were disappointed with Superman Returns, so they don't know whether to make a sequel or to star from scratch with a reboot.

Now in the words of Professor Farnsworth, "Good news, everyone", Punisher: War Zone is rated R and apparently was never going to be rated PG-13. via Ain't It Cool News.

If your a comic book fan, like me, your hopefully excited about the movie adaptation of Watchmen, which will come out March 6 as long as Fox doesn't have its way. It seems they are a little mad about Warner Bros. releasing this movie at all and is suing them, claiming they (Fox) own the rights to distribute a Watchmen film and at the same time Warner Bros. says that they own the rights. At this point in time Fox doesn't want to share profits with Warner Bros. and wants the production on the movie to stop. via Slashfilm.

In some happier Watchmen news, Kevin Smith has seen the movie and puts all of my worries to rest about the movie by saying, "It's fucking astounding.". The rest of what Kevin Smith thought about Watchmen can be found at Slashfilm.

Next up, Variety is reporting that Paramount is developing a sequel to School of Rock. The sequel is currently titled School of Rock 2: America Rocks and Jack Black is returning.

And in other movie sequel news, Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Arnold is being replaced by an another Austrian bodybuilder named Roland Kickinger as the T-800 Terminator in Terminator Salvation.
